IVAO rule 5.1.7
Divisions may require members of foreign divisions to obtain a Guest Controller Approval before being allowed to log in on FRA restricted positions. Divisions shall announce their participation and publish their requirements on the division’s web site.
What is GCA
GCA is the acronym of Guest Controller Approval, it allow at members of foreign divisions to control in Saudi Arabia airspace.
Requirments
The Saudi Division requires IVAO members who are not registered as a member of the SA-Division to apply for the Guest Controller Approval (GCA) prior controlling within the OEJD-FIR. SA-Division has the right to accept/reject any application.
General Requirements
- The applicant should be familiar with the area and has the intention to control within Jeddah FIR.
- The applicant should know the English Language (text and voice).
- The applicant should have all the basics knowledge as controller, the training team will assist the applicant for the local procedures only.
- The applicant should be prepared before applying GCA and meet the requirements.
- The applicant should have the ability to control within Jeddah FIR at least 6 hours every month.
For Approach Controller
- Minimum ATC rating ADC
- Minimum 50 logged hours as controller.
- The applicant should be familiar with the main aerodromes; OEJN, OERK, OEDF and OEMA
- Pass the online interview.
For Area Control Center
- Minimum ATC rating APC
- Minimum 150 logged hours as controller.
- The applicant should be familiar with the Jeddah FIR and aerodromes within its boundaries.
- The applicant should study the en-route and aerodrome charts that are available in this website.
- Pass the online interview.
- After the interview and before opening CTR position, the applicant must achieve as least 5 hours as APP on each of our main aerodromes; OEJN, OERK, OEDF and OEMA
- To be noted that this position is nominated by SA HQ even though the applicant meets the requirements.
